Benefits of visiting  Ayodhya, as per Skanda purana ::

If sarayu river is visited, 

• Pitrus are satisfied more than gayasraadhaa
• it gives benefits same as that is got by staying in Kaasi for 1000s of manvantras
• One attains berits same as what is obtained by staying in mathura for one kalpa
• One obtains benefits which is obtained in puskara and prayaaga in the month of karthika or magha
• Mere seeing of sarayu, gives the person merits obtained by staying in avanti for thousands and crores of kalpas

Visiting Ayodhya in Kaliyuga for half a moment, one gets merits of taking a plunge in ganga for sixty thousand years
